An Update from June 21st

These are the chronicles that never made it to teh blog in the past 6 months.
Updates?
Grades have gone up in a month with the help of tuition teachers where college lecturers were sure I would fail.
I met the love of my life. more than half a month down the road, We're still together and I couldn't be happier.
The journey for us to be together was no picnic though, and this was from a time when her classmates were still shunning her as a result of our relationship (Med students are all from the dark ages apparently)

Secret and Whisper
"He slouches against the wall, not quite enjoying the implications of her words. Beyond the door, the world seemed to shuffle on in impunity to the drastic change in mood between the two individuals within that lonely lounge. The room's chill only seemed to add to the sense of dread that assailed him, but he kept such thoughts to himself. Instead, he focused his attention to the curled figure before him, her flowing hair and flambouyant yet formal clothing at odds with his own shabby and wild appearance.

It didn't help either that logic and common sense was on her side; he knew full well that this was going to be hard from the start. So he let it slide to the back of his own mind for contemplation, and tried to think of some way he could ease the situation; but nothing was forth coming. He hugged her tighter, his hope that it was as much a balm to her soul as it was to him. Jokes were cracked, and it succeeded in lightening the mood; but his own thoughts were stained with the knowledge of how much she was suffering on his account. It was a moment of deja vu; he saw himself back in his own class again, noticing the gradual shift that brought him away from those he had called friends, and being helpless to do anything about it.

After they had parted ways, the smile he wore as he walked with her to her exit point faded. He continued to walk around the suburban market district, without any particular destination in mind, his mind kicked into high gear. She was right; Fate seemed to conspire against them at every turn, even more than he was accustomed to. To him, it only strengthened his conviction that there was indeed something worth fighting for in this uphill struggle. But to suggest that her suffering was relatively easier would have been insulting to say the least; and he fully appreciated the fact that for a first timer, these problems were relatively harder. There was nothing he felt would be enough to help her out of her problems, and the sense of uselessness was corroding his own self worth.

He let the thoughts coalesce in the foremost part of his mind, then silenced them all with a shake of his head. No, he thought to himself. He's been fighting against uneven odds ever since he entered society; it had to count for something. After all that life has thrown at him, after all the bizarre and almost miraculous quirk of fate that brought them together, I'm not about to let a group of pretentious puritan bastards take her from me.

With the promise to himself made, he finally decided to head home.
