She closed the page, and there she lay,
looked far west, and called my name.
her siren call lulls me away,
from familiar shores and skies so grey.
beyond the horizons, to lands unknown,
where peace is given, and the air so cold.
Brought to heaven's edge, and thus did she leave;
among strange seas, there she let me be.
I clutched at the ropes,
stayed close to the light,
safe yet alone,
a light buoy in the night.
